What educators are saying

Thank you for creating these templates! I was even able to adapt them to use for remote learning on Seesaw, and now they're able to be used in person. So engaging.

    Description

Use these engaging matching activities to support your students with multiple phonics skills! These "match it up" games are thematic and span the entire school year. Use them in centers for independent practice or in your small group for re-teaching or guided instruction.

These activities each have a skill that they focus on. They were designed to progress through the school year as kindergarten students learn new skills. You can put these activities in centers for students to use during whichever month or theme you are in. Since many skills are self-checking, students will enjoy being able to complete them on their own!

Here's what is included in the bundle:

Letter ID and Initial Sounds Matching Activity (Beginning of Year)

Students will identify uppercase and lowercase letters by matching them together. Students will also identify letter sounds and initial sounds by matching letters with a picture. Comes with 52 card sets and 6 student response sheets.

Rhyming Word Families Matching Activity (Fall)

Students will identify rhyming words by matching pictures that rhyme. Students can use the picture in the background as well as the ending letters to scaffold their matching. Comes with 30 card sets and 5 student response sheets.

Compound Words Matching Activity (Winter Holidays)

Students will identify compound words by matching the halves together. Students can use the picture in the background as well as the picture of the word to scaffold their matching. Comes with 18 card sets and 3 student response sheets.

Onset and Rime Matching Activity (Valentine's Day)

Students will match the onset and rime of CVC words using all 5 medial vowel sounds. Students can use the picture of the word to scaffold their matching. Comes with 30 card sets and 5 student response sheets.

Digraph Matching Activity (St. Patrick's Day)

Students will match the th-, sh-, wh-, and ch- digraphs to the ends of words. Students can use the picture of the word to scaffold their matching. Comes with 24 card sets and 4 student response sheets.
