PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This document is a scaffold for students writing an essay on the novel Mexican Whiteboy by Matt de la Pena.

I used this in my classroom for students who are English Language Learners and who have IEPs and struggle to identify textual evidence to support a theme. I provide this to those students to pull evidence from when they are writing their essays so that they don't have to flip back through the entire book. These quotes can also be used to create homework assignments off of.

There are 4 pages of quotes broken up by topic. 4 Topics are explored, including: family, self-confidence, race, and coping with stress.
