Students always need extra practice when it comes to identifying the theme! Use these pages to introduce, practice, or review identifying the theme of fiction or non-fiction narratives. These pages can be used daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or throughout the year. Use the pages to clarify, fine-tune, or remediate. The choice is yours!
Students will read any text/excerpt of your/their choice at any reading level, fiction or non-fiction narrative. They will then identify the life-lesson while including 3 supporting pieces of evidence whether it be a quote, paraphrased proof, or an explanation/example. These can be noted or quoted or any combination of the two-it's up to you and your students. There is also a place to get evaluated: by self, peer, or teacher/adult. It's a flexible page! There is a page for four entries and one for five entries. Each set includes a page for grading and one without. Designed for multiple-uses, multi-use.
