Emo Vocabulary? Pirate Vocabulary? Ninja Vocabulary?
They may sound strange, but these sets of vocabulary lessons with a twist are just what you need to get students motivated to build their vocabulary!
So, what is Emo vocabulary?
They are words that you will commonly see on a standardized test, or in your latest novel study.
Emo vocab words would be: Aloof, Laconic, Torpid, Angst, Pallid ...
Pirate vocab words: Maelstrom, Billowing, Reprehensible, Bombast ...
Ninja vocab words: Hasten, Enshroud, Traverse, Finesse ...
You get 6 lists in all (each with 15 words) That's 90 terms!
Each list comes with a definition matching sheet, a word search, and a Tic Tac Toe assignment sheet.
Tic Tac Toe sheets are a way to give students a choice in how they do their assignments. They are a form of differentiated instruction. Students get to choose from activities ranging from creating a thesaurus entry for each word to writing a story combining vocab from two different lists (An Emo Pirate story, for instance)
