The student will read six passages and infer a theme for each.
The packet of theme worksheets contains 6 reading passages. Students must read the passage, and identify the theme. These can also be used as an assessment!
Four of the worksheets conclude with the multiple choice question, "Which of the following statements best expresses the main theme of this passage?".
Two of the worksheets conclude with an open ended question, "In the space below, write a sentence that explains the major theme of this story."
The final two worksheets contain both a multiple-choice question and an open-ended question.
An answer key is provided.
