Students change quite a bit throughout the year, but not everything about them changes. For example, a student may have a favorite movie at the beginning of the year and that movie may still be the child’s favorite at the end of the year. This is a fun activity to gauge just how much your students have changed. Some students will have changed more than others.
Students simply complete a chart that compares how things were "THEN" (beginning of the school year) versus how things are "NOW" (at the beginning of the school year. For example, what was the student's shoe size at the beginning of the year versus the student's shoe size today?
If you want to get the most accurate information, you may want to have students complete the "Then" questions at the beginning of the school year. That way students don't have to rely on memory. This would make a great portfolio piece.
