Theodore Roosevelt
was born in new York city on Oct. 27,1858. His dad was a glass importer and his family lived a comfortable life. He has asthma as a child but still participated in athletics. He graduated from Harvard University. He was considered a moderate Republican.


He served as a police commissioner,asst. secretary of the navy and served in the spanish American War. When President McKinley was killed in 1901,Roosevelt became President. He was elected to a 2nd term in 1904. In 1906 he was warded the Nobel Peace prize.


He was the 1st president to:
Fly in a plane
be submerged in a submarine
to own a car
to have a telephone in his home
to entertain an African/American in the White house


Roosevelt was an environmentalist and founded the first 18 national monuments including the Grand canyon,Petrified Forest and Devils Tower.
He passed away in 1919.
