Try the strategies in "A Different Approach to Problem Solving" series. Each lesson will take the student through a step-by-step process to arrive at their final solution. Each of the lessons/product can be adjusted to your student's grade level. Topics covered in the series are number sense, spatial sense, probability, statistics and data analysis. Use each lesson as a cooperative group experience, an introductory lesson to a topic, or do some classroom brainstorming. The activities make a good lesson for basic skills as well as preparing your student’s for testing. One of many possible solutions is provided.
