This pack includes images and worksheets that go with the book "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Chick!" by Lucille Colandro. This pack includes: an enlarged old lady for you to print out along with images of what she swallows (a chick, some straw, some candy, a bow, a basket, and an egg) and 3 worksheets (compare/contrast venn diagram; sorting what she swallows in order; and a short writing piece).
You can print out the images and as you read the story to your students, have your students come up to put the chick or the bow or the basket in her mouth. This will help students stay engaged and active in your reading.
Then, pass out the worksheets. You can compare/contrast a basket to an egg or the Easter Bunny to the Old lady. Additionally, you can recall the story and have your students draw/write what she swallows in order (shown in thumbnail). Last, have your students draw what they wish the Old Lady would have swallowed as well as write a short paragraph about it (shown in thumbnail).
