Students love this book by Lucille Colandro! This script allows them to further enjoy the story!
There are roles for four students. I incorporated the word "all" so that students need to keep on track. There are also name labels to attach to a construction paper strip to make a headband or to hole-punch and lace with yarn for a necklace.
Reader's Theaters are a great way to improve reading and speaking fluency. They also give the children a chance to practice reading with expression and meaning.
It's fun to change parts after the script has been perfected--giving students another chance to become fluent readers.
After we are through with the script, I leave them in the reading area of my room. Students love to pick them up and read them, often forming their own small groups to perform the "play."

If you like this Reader's Theater, I have one for The Night Before Valentine's Day.
Have fun, and feel free to change the script in any way that you would like.
