Here are 6 literacy centers that correspond with this very cute book by Lucille Colandro!
+Sequencing-Students will place the 6 items the cold lady swallowed in order.
+Rhyming-Students will match the words that rhyme. There are 15 word cards that make 7 sets.
+Comprehension Card Game-Students can work in pairs or in a small group. One student will read a question card and another will try to answer it. If that student gets the answer correct, he/she keeps the card. The student with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. There are 9 questions. Cards are to be copied front to back so that the questions are on the front and corresponding answers are on the back.
+Adjectives/Verbs/Nouns Sorting- Students will sort the 21 given words into the correct category. One page has the word cards that need to be cut out. The second page is for the students to place the cards into the correct category.
+ABC Order-Students will place the 14 word cards in alphabetical order.
+Writing Response-The students will respond to the given prompt.
