Product Description
Everything you need to accompany Lucille Colandro’s "There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books!" (This resource is a companion to the book. You will need to purchase the book separately).

This resource is perfect to use with children with Autism or who demonstrate difficulties in their receptive and/or expressive language.

This 27 page resource includes:

-Lesson Plan and Data Sheet: set objectives and monitor progress while reading the story.

-Communication Board: visual aid to accompany the story to help nonverbal and minimally verbal students respond to wh-questions and expand utterance length.

-Picture symbols to adapt your book: add visual supports to each page!

-Feed the Old Lady activity: cut out the Old Lady, cutting a hole for her mouth also, and cut out the items she eats in the story so that students can feed her!

-Sequence the Story: an activity to practice story recall and sequencing.

-Semantic Feature Analysis: Practice describing by providing features of a "book" using color-coded visuals and questions.

-Leveled Worksheets/Homework: Check for understanding to ensure recall and comprehension of the story.

-Create a Classroom Scene Craft Activity: What do you see in the classroom? Color, cut, and glue items into a classroom scene or use as an open-ended speech and language activity.

*All of our resources work very well with our "WH" Question prompts!
