Page 4: Sequencing Fun With the Old Lady Story Strips:
This activity allows students a chance to retell Lucille Colandro's story: There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick. I have created cards for each time she swallowed throughout the story. Students can either glue these cards onto a sentence strip or cut one long strip of paper and glue them in order.

Page 5-6: Larger story strip cards. You can use these to demonstrate in small group, use as a center, or even use in a pocket chart.

Page 7-8: There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a/an/some
This activity will help students choose the correct subject/verb agreement when writing and reading.

Page 11: Verbs and Nouns Assessment
Students will cut out 15 words and determine if they are considered a noun or a verb. Students should glue it onto the T-chart.

Page 12: Proper Nouns Poster

Page 13: Proper Nouns Assessment: I created this assessment to allow students to read sentences and then highlight or underline all the proper nouns. Students can then check their own work and color in the egg next to the sentence if they get it correct.
