Product Description
I always start off each school year reading this book to my students as a read aloud. I created these ELA centers so that my students could do activities related to the book as I taught them how to do reading workshop rotations. I also wanted to hold students slightly accountable for listening to me read.

NOTE: This is NOT a book study. It does not contain questions over each chapter or anything that you might find in a book study. The students do not need a copy of the book in order to do the activities.

Bradley's How-To - Students write three how-to paragraphs by grouping the steps by subject, putting in correct order, and adding transition words.
Carla's Clothes - Students draw Carla's clothing based on Bradley's descriptions.
Off Topic - Students brainstorm a list of possible topics using a graphic organizer.
Call My Mom - Students sort events into those that did happen and those that did not happen.
The New Kid - Students identify Jeff's emotions in various situations.

Refer to the preview to see each of these centers in detail.
