Product Description
This activity is designed to help students understand some of the symbols used in Things Fall Apart. The three symbols covered in the activity are rain, locusts, and fire. Rain is used at the beginning of part 2 to symbolize a chance at new life for Okonkwo. The locusts symbolize the coming of the Europeans and the destruction that will follow. The fire symbolizes many different aspects of the relationship between Okonkwo and his son, Nwoye.
