Think-Pair-Share (TPS) is an instructional strategy that encourages student collaboration and participation during whole class discussion. It allows students critical thinking time before writing down their thoughts and sharing with a partner. This think/pair time eliminates a lot of anxiety for students who do not feel confident sharing during whole class discussion.
I use these images as a presentation first (at the beginning of the school year), then reference it as a poster on the wall throughout the year. I created the additional "apply" poster because I usually have students write down their thoughts or responses following the TPS.
If it is a pre-planned/structured think-pair-share time, I incorporate it within my Google Slides presentation and include a timer on top of the images to guide students through the activity.
The images eventually become synonymous with the strategy, which is wonderful for classroom management and establishing procedures when it comes to class discussions.
