Social Skills Bundle
This lesson focuses on things we can say out loud vs. things we should think in our heads. Included are 40 "Think it or Say it?" cards relevant to the classroom, lunchroom, and playground, as well as a mini lesson outline you may choose to use when introducing the topic. I use this lesson with my social skills group (grades 2-4), but I think it would also be appropriate for older children working on this skill.
I like to introduce the topic of "Think it or Say it" after teaching my students about expected and unexpected behaviors, because it allows me to ask questions such as, "Was that an expected thing to say?" or "What will others think if you say that out loud?"
This download utilizes SymbolStix clipart (used with permission), which provides simple and concrete pictures. I love using this symbol system with my children who are on the autism spectrum, because the pictures are very straight forward.
If you use this lesson with your students, please leave feedback to let me know what worked or didn't work. Enjoy!
