Thinking Aloud is a variation of think-pair-share that produces amazing results. A specific protocol, when followed, is the secret to these results. Students talk to learn what they think and listen to learn what others think! Good conversational skills lay the foundation for reading and writing skills. Thinking Aloud helps students: 1) learn and use vocabulary in context, 2) process and make meaning of learning experiences by talking about them, and 3) build and clarify understanding through listening to self and others.
