Thinking errors are highly common amongst adolescents.
Giving them memorable names, images and examples may
assist you in explaining and identifying them in your students.
Each of the twelve is given a short and simple definition, followed
by a page with a thought bubble example. Below this is a
question for the student, asking them to “answer” or “help” the
thought. This is a means of checking for comprehension. Students
may not want to identify these in themselves but may be willing
to in a sibling or a friend. I often show an example by explaining how
I identify with one or two.
