The 2D and 3D shape activities enclosed use Tree Maps, a type of thinking map which is similar to a graphic organizer, to focus on sorting out 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional shapes. Thinking maps are visual patterns to aid in the learning process. The students cut out pictures and determine which heading they go under for the tree maps. There are 6 worksheets/activities total – including the pictures to cut out and the corresponding Tree (thinking) maps. Shapes included are: circle, hexagon, rectangle, square, triangle, cone, cube, cylinder, rectangular prism, and sphere. Instructions are included describing the activities and why thinking maps are important for learning.
