Thinking Maps are a pattern based tool used to help our students to visualize their thinking. The goal is to have students familiar with the maps and language in order for them to use the thinking maps in across all subjects without being prompted.
I have developed not just posters for the Thinking Maps, but posters for vocabulary associated with each map as well as keys to help students know what goes where on their map. I feel like the visual helped my students to become more independent while using this tool.
I have also included student versions of the Thinking Maps, though I believe that we should be training our students (especially 3rd and up) to create these maps on their own, so I don't use the print and go ones too often.
I laminated my poster and keywords on one sheet of construction paper together and hung them above my board! You can also print them two per page in order to maximize space and have both map example and words fit on one page.
Included in this package are:
- Color Background Thinking Maps
- Black and White Thinking Maps
- Keywords in both color and BW
- Print and Go for students
- Student Reference Page
