Thinking, Reading, and Writing for the Twenty-first Century: A Transferable-Skills-Based, High-School, English Pedagogy
How do high-school, English teachers prepare students for an unimaginable future? What transferable skills can be taught and learned today that will still be useful and valuable in that future? How can English educators shift from a knowledge-based approach to a skills-based approach? And, how can English teachers transcend past old, outdated as well as new, poorly-conceived beliefs and practices? It’s time to let the past go, to look to the future, and to educate in terms of what is actually valuable and how people actually learn.
