Included in this bundle are three games/activities which are listed separately in my store, but listed here as a bundle for a discounted price.
Activity 1-Move It Prove It 3.NF.1: In this file you will receive an 8 page pdf file of the Move It Prove It card game for 3.NF.1. The game is printed with 4 cards per page. There are 30 game cards, a title card for easy filing, and a directions card in each game. In this game students must match the cards in groups of 3 that make a set. For example, the fraction 1/2 matches to the words one half and the picture of one half.
"Move It Prove It" is a great way to get your students up and 'moving' while 'proving' knowledge of a skill. This game should take no more than 5-10 minutes total and it will get the students a much needed movement break. The rules are simple. Remaining absolutely silent (they can only communicate by motioning and looking at each others' cards) they must find their partners and stand together. When signaled by the group, the teacher checks to make sure they group is correct. Upon approval, the students return to their seats, or if you wish to play again, instruct students to trade cards with another student and play again.
Activity 2-Move It Prove It 3.NF.2: In this file you will receive a 16 page pdf file of the Move It Prove It card game for 3.NF.2. There is a complete game and an extension. The game is printed with 4 cards per page. There are 54 total game cards, a title card for each version, and 2 directions cards. In this game students must match the cards in groups of 2 that make a set. For example, the fraction 1/2 (blue) matches to the number line that represents 1/2 (green). In the extension, students can get in groups of three and add the picture representation of the fraction (yellow).
Also included is a page of blank cards so students can make their own pictorial representation.
When done, have students put themselves in order from least to greatest. Equivalent fractions (1/2 and 3/6) can stand next to each other. This is a great introduction to comparing fractions!
Activity 3-Math-O 3.NF.3: In this file you will receive a 9 page pdf document which contains 6 cards per page. File includes a title card for easy filing, a directions card, a 52 card deck, and 2 extra Wild cards.
Math-O is played following the same rules as the UNO card game except in this version, students must match up equivalent fractions in order to play the next card. Cards are color coded just like UNO, so if there are no matching fractions, students can match the color.
Following Common Core Standards for third grade, these cards contain fractions with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8. If you are interested in harder fractions, check in my store for the 4th grade version of this game.
