Writing - Students plan and write about how they would spend $5 from Grandma Betty and Grandpa Louie.
5) Alexander, Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday - Money Mysteries:
Science - Students follow the scientific process as they experiment with pennies!
6) Alexander, Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday - If I Were Rich:
Art - Students create a collage through drawing and writing to show how life would be different if they were rich!
7) Arthur Meets the President -
Story Map:
Reading - Students complete a story map of story elements and events.
8) Arthur Meets the President - Patriotic Multiplication Match :
Math - Students match patriotic arrays with multiplication facts.
9) Arthur Meets the President - Prefixes and Suffixes:
Language - Students identify and use prefixes and suffixes.
10) Arthur Meets the President - Washington, DC Map Grid:
Social Studies - Students follow directions to place symbols on a map grid, then answer and create questions about the map.
11) Arthur Meets the President - Presidential Writing:
Writing - Students write a letter to the President of the United States. (planning page included)
12) Arthur Meets the President - Campaign Poster:
Art - Students pretend to run for President and create their own campaign posters!
13) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Cause & Effect:
Reading - Students complete cause and effect relationships from the story.
14) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Weather Forecast:
Science - Students create a weekly weather forecast for the town of Chewandswallow.
15) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Compare and Contrast:
Reading - Students compare and contrast life in Chewandswallow with their own lives.
16) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Cloudy with a Chance of Multiplication:
Math - Students play a board game to practice multiplication facts.
17) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - An Ideal Day in Chewandswallow:
Writing - Students plan and write about their perfect day in Chewandswallow.
18) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Similes, Metaphors, & Hyperboles:
Language - Students use food from the story to write their own similes, metaphors, and hyperboles.
