    About This Product
I created this product to meet a need I saw in my own classroom. As a third grade teacher I found that although my students would demonstrate proficiency in a skill or concept at the time it was formally taught, they would often show misconceptions when we would review for the standardized tests in the spring. I knew this stemmed from those skills being taught in isolation and that my students needed more spiral review.

Like you, one of the greatest obstacles I face as a teacher is finding the time to “do it all.” Therefore it was really important to me that I created something that was both efficient and effective.  I really wanted a consistent method of quickly reviewing the grade level concepts on a regular basis in a manner that did not distract from our new learning.  I also wanted to be able to easily identify students who were struggling with a skill to further drive my instruction when planning new lessons and forming small groups.

Here’s what I came up with...

I created a collection of 25 simple pages per month with a consistent layout that offers familiarity for students and their families. I designed them so that teachers have lots of options on how they wish to use them.  Students can have their own individual copy to write on (perfect for homework, morning bell work, and “at your seat” practice during math workshop) or teachers may use just one copy at a center and have the students record their answers on the included answer strips or in a notebook.

The page layout for recording their answers allows for quick assessment and greatly reduces the time it takes to correct the students’ work. To maximize my ability to identify specific areas of weakness, I put great care into the layout of the questions and created both a whole class and individual student item analysis sheet which make it very easy to collect data to drive instruction.

Because my goal was to offer my students a consistent spiral review of the grade level skills, I feel it is very beneficial to quickly go over each page together as a class. For that reason the PDF was specifically created in a horizontal format so that I can easily project a copy of it onto my interactive whiteboard for a visual, engaging mini-lesson.

I have been successfully using these as homework Monday through Thursday (along with a nightly reading log). I then dedicated a few minutes each morning to going over them together and having the students self-correct their homework using the projectable version.

On Fridays I give the students the extra page for the week to complete independently in class and correct those myself using the item analysis sheets. This shows me how the class is doing as a whole and provides me with data that then guides my instruction.

I’m really excited about these because not only are they meeting a need I have in the classroom, but also because they drastically reduce the amount of time it normally would take me to plan, prep and correct nightly homework.

If you choose to use them as in class work then you can eliminate prep entirely by projecting the page on your interactive whiteboard and having them record their answers on paper or dry erase boards.

“Love this product for daily morning work for my students and love how the skills build on each other and how students can track their own data.” (Thank you Alissa T.)

“I love using these in my classroom. They are a great formative assessment and review of skills previously taught.” (Thank you Stacy P.)

“These have been amazing. They have saved me so much time because I can confidently know that the necessary skills will be covered AND then covered again. I started using these packets when I found them in November and was amazed by the fact that my students were all able to remember the those concepts they usually forget about a week after we move on. I suggest these to so many teachers. You won’t be disappointed.” (Thanks Tracey G.)
Teachers Who Have Used Our Spiral Math Reviews Said.

“WOW! I’ve been teaching 3rd grade for 16 years and this has been these packets have been the most useful thing I have used. My students really understand all of the skills and I loved knowing I wasn’t moving on without all my kids being proficient. The beautiful layout, structured format and clear expectations made it so easy to make these become part of our daily routine. I highly recommend them to everyone.” (Thank you Jocelyn P.)

“I started using your monthly spiral review pages in October and never looked back. Not only did they provide us with quality daily work, but I just got my end of year scores back for the district math assessments and my entire class crushed it. I attribute their success 100% to these pages combined with your guided math book that opened my eyes to a whole new way of teaching. I can’t thank you enough. My administration has taken notice. I’m so proud of what we’ve done.” (Thank you Kerri K.)

“Love the data sheets! Great way for me and my students to monitor their learning.” (Thanks Kelsey)

In my classroom I use these pages for homework in conjunction with the Math Spiral Review Pages below and an Interactive Bookmarks: An Effective Tool To Track Student Thinking When Reading.
