This resource will have your students actually wanting to do work in the summer! We've all heard of the dreaded summer slide, and it happens to all kids; however, with this resource, students will be interested in doing review work to keep their brains working!
Students will have 5 weeks of printables to do (5 days each week). After completing each day, their parent/guardian will give them a clue for a "road trip" they will go on after completing the week's worth of work. The printables cover a wide range of common core standards and topics which can be seen below. On the sixth day, students will go on their "road trip" with their parent and then write about it. The packet concludes on the 31st day with an overall writing assignment. Teachers can provide extra incentives to send pictures via social media during the summer or a reward for returning the packet in the fall.
Now, these road trips do not have to be extravagant. Ideas and hints are given that can be sent home to the parents. Ideas would be such things as bowling, miniature golf course, the zoo, etc.
