Students will practice 12 math skills using a poster and a worksheet. This zip file is a PDF including directions, poster, and student worksheet and a png of the poster. If you wish for the poster to be larger than 8 x 11, you will need to print the poster and enlarge it using a method of your choice. Or give students their own copy of the poster to keep in a folder or desk.
Skills practiced include:
-squaring vs. doubling
-multiplying and dividing by 100
-representing a number as a model
I use this in my classroom as a weekly center for students to choose and they earn incentive points for completing correctly. I have the poster on the wall and a stack of the worksheets next to it for students to grab as needed. I gradually make the number larger as the year goes on. To differentiate, I offer students a choice of numbers or have them create their own number.
This could also be used as a daily warm up, depending on what best suits your classroom and teaching style. It's been a great way to motivate students to practice and master skills.
Before printing, ensure the PDF is scaled to your liking in the print preview.
