PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Projectable Lessons from The Writing Diner! Teach your students how to get details into a piece of writing. This lesson focuses on using thoughtshots, a Barry Lane idea, as one way to get quality details into student writing. It explicitly and clearly teaches students the importance of including what a person or character in a piece of writing is thinking. The lesson includes a writing sample so that students can see how writers think about including a person's thoughts in a piece of writing to make it more interesting. This straightforward, simple lesson will be an important step in helping students to add details to their work and to also help them to become active thinkers while independently writing. The lesson is connected to the book, The Writing Diner, by Tim Hargis.
