Students will create a mobile about the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the U.S. government. On the mobile, they will be explaining the members, responsibilities, jobs, powers, and how each branch checks the other two branches. Students will work cooperatively in groups of 2 or 3 to complete the mobile project. I have included explicit student directions and examples of how to complete the project. Students will complete an outline graphic organizer before they create the mobile. The project does not require the use of a textbook. I have included 20 research questions and websites they will use to find the information. A rubric is included for grading. Please message me if you have any questions.
*The project does not require any teacher preparation other than the supplies students will need to construct the mobile. (Supplies needed: Index cards, fine point markers, clothes hangers, hole punch, and yard/string)
*The project is designed for 8th-grade students; however, feel free to modify for upper or lower grades.
