Knowing how to subtract big numbers is key to students' success in later math including long division. Whether your students are just learning about subtraction of larger numbers or they need some review before moving onto bigger math topics, this fun QR code scavenger hunt is just what you need to give them a little extra practice in a fun and engaging way.
This engaging activity will get your students up and moving around the room using technology to practice solving subtraction problems.
This activity requires students to use a mobile device with a QR code reader such as a tablet, iPad, iPhone, etc. There are many free apps that read QR codes, my favorite one is called SCAN and is free.
Students scan the start card to get the first problem and then look for the card with the answer they got to scan for the next problem.
The problems are all subtraction problems and meet common core standards for third and fourth grades. This is also a great review of subtraction for older students.
The set includes 20 scavenger hunt task cards, a student record sheet and a full answer key.
