I use this PowerPoint presentation to review vocabulary on Day 4 of instruction with my students. This PowerPoint includes a Turn/Talk for each word for cooperative learning/collaborative conversations.

Throughout the week, track the proper use of these vocabulary words. Kids can tally their use or when they hear the word used.

Day 1: Active read-aloud of first 1/2 of book.
Day 2: Active read-aloud of second 1/2 of book.
Day 3: Introduce first 3 vocabulary words. Give examples and non-examples of words. Kids can give thumbs up/thumbs down during examples and non-examples.
Day 3: Repeat with second 3 vocabulary words.
Day 4: Use PowerPoint to review vocabulary through Collaborative Conversations (Turn/Talk -- Think/Pair/Share)
Day 5: Assess by having students write a sentence for each word.

Vocabulary: wander, admire, mope, strut, relieved, glamorous
