Three Hungry Ants Reinforce sight words, sequencing, story elements, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Three Hungry Ants" mini book practices the sight words he, it, here, is, some, said, big, little, one, two, three, and, ate, all, up, to tell the story of three hungry ants eating a bear family's picnic lunch. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture of what they would eat if they were hungry ants. More advanced writers will write a complete sentence to match their picture. Students will practice identifying characters, setting, and retelling beginning, middle, and end in a flip book. There are two versions. One has just a drawing space, while the other also has writing lines. I have also included a full color sequencing/retelling puzzle.
Examples of these activities in action are shown in the preview!
