Interactive books require the student to move the pictures and participate. This active participation improves attending skills while reducing off task time. In my classroom, I use these books both in a one on one instruction setting, during independent work after the student has mastered the skill, and in a small group.
-Three Little Pigs Interactive Book (both in color and black&white to save ink)
-Cut and Paste comprehension, sequencing, and story elements
-Beginning sound and Word matching clip cards
-Counting clip cards 1-10
-Pocket Chart cards for retelling
I use these activities in my elementary special education room, but they would be appropriate for pre K and Kindergarten students (even homeschool!)
