Little people love the story of the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. They will especially love this fun game to help them practice reading long vowel words! This game is perfect for small group, RtI, and literacy centers after instruction has been provided.
The following long vowel spelling patterns are included:
Long A: a_e, ay, eigh, ai (78 cards)
Long E: ea, ee, y, ie (66 cards)
Long I: i_e, i, y, igh, ie (60 cards)
Long O: o_e, oe, ow, oa (66 cards)
Long U: u_e, ew, oo, ue (54 cards)
That's a total of 324 words cards!!
The game is similar to other sight word games such as Oopsie, Zap!, etc. Each player takes a turn drawing a card. If it's a word card, they read the word. A big bad wolf card makes them lose all of their cards. Each player has a mat with the three pigs' houses on it. If they draw a pig card, they place it on their house mat. The game ends when a player has 3 little pigs on their house mat. The player with the most cards wins!
This is a game that once you print and laminate, you can use over and over for many years to come! NOTE: You'll need to print out enough game mats (w/ the houses) for each player to have his/her own. There are notes in the game directions about how many wolf and pig cards are suggested for game play, based on the number of students playing.
I also have a CVC and CVCe edition in my store you may like to check out!
