Three reads is a great strategy to use to help students understand and solve word problems. I did not create the three reads strategy, but as I used it I noticed that there weren't many options for having students organize their ideas in a clear way. So, I slightly altered the steps (I call it a "Four Reads") and created this graphic organizer to provide consistency. I have found this organizer to be very useful for my students independently, with a partner, and in small groups.
This product includes:
~editable graphic organizer
~blank graphic organizer
~explanation of the strategy
~2 examples of what a completed organizer might look like
