Product Description
In this collaborative lesson, these worksheets are used for students to have hands on experiences with three types of rocks. Sedimentary rocks are represented by Mallomar cookies (you can also use chocolate chip cookies, as a sedimentary rock can look like either one!); metamorphic rocks are represented by balls of play doh; igneous rocks are represented by a bowl of powder jello mixed with water and a separate bowl of ready made jell-o. The students work through the three science stations, examining the real-life objects to understand how the rock is created. The scaffolding of the worksheets helps students understand through real-life connections.
