Students use this to organize information about the empires of Ghana, Mali, and Songhai. First they draw the empires on each map and the salt and gold fields. Next they fill in the information about each West African empire in the appropriate boxes. I used this with best practices: I do, we do, you do. I have also created a best practices PowerPoint for use with McDougal Littell’s, World History: Medieval and Early Modern Times textbook.
