Cause: I could never find a quality PowerPoint that explained the step by step instructions for finding the three most commonly used points of view.
Effect: I made my own!
The kids really enjoy this PowerPoint and it truly helps them grasp the concept of POV.
Within this PowerPoint I define and give examples of:
Third Person Limited
Third Person Omniscient
I then teach students how to correctly identify which type of point of view anything is written in by finding pronouns and thought and emotion words.
This way of teaching Point of View has really paid off for me in the last 3 years!
