This is a great project for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers who are teaching U.S. history or "lifetsyles in the different decades" in Social Studies. The students are to create a magazine from their chosen decade that might have been for sale on newsstands back in "the day." They conduct an interview, read a non-fiction book, and conduct research in order to put together the magazine. This helps put money, time, material items, & history into perspective for them. A rubric is included.
