Part 1 identifies the 9 examples of figurative language Lessing employs: Foreshadowing, Onomatopoeia, Personification, Contrast, Simile, Parallel Structure, Alliteration, Repetition , and Metaphor, and the students must match the example to its definition. In Part 2 the students must match the examples of figurative language to samples of each. In Part 3 the students must match the examples of figurative language to direct quotations from the short story. Some are used more than once. A 2 page KEY is provided.
