This is a lesson that was promised in an article I wrote in Canadian Teacher Magazine in the Sept/Oct 14 issue. (bit.ly/1BxF1Va) The two lessons in the article were Place Value and Symmetry lessons. This one here is a kinesthetic Geometry lesson that uses Frisbee Golf and Google Earth to teach Transformational Geometry.
Included are step by step instructions on how to use Google Earth to complete the activity, as well as two worksheets.
I've included the Ontario Geometry Curriculum Expectations for grades 3 - 8 so the lesson can be adapted for any grade. In addition, I've given guiding questions for each grade to scaffold learning.
