Description
This activity was designed to be a no prep activity to target articulation in an engaging way. It is a craft activity that keep students busy during practice! This download contains sample initial and final /s/ pages and a blank templates.
(you can also use fingerprints)
The full articulation pack contains following sounds: initial/final: p, b, m; final: n, t, d; initial/medial/final: k, g, f, v, l, s, z, ch, j, th, sh; pre-vocalic r; vocalic r (er, ar, or, air, ear, ire); rblends; lblends; sblends (separate mats for sp, st, sm, sn, sk, sl, sw, mixed). First practice, then make a thumbprint fall tree!
Materials Needed: Ink pad or paint (fall colors recommended), thumbprint leaves pages
Optional Assembly: You can also place in a sheet protector or laminate to use with play dough.
To use: The student will practice the word and then make a thumbprint leaf on on the oval over the word. The student will place their thumb on an ink pad and then stamp it on the tree.If you are working in a group, I have the student fill in the tree with more thumbprints while they wait their turn. Use the blank template as a craft or reinforcer with any activity.
Variations:
Use paint instead of ink
Use play dough to smash to make leaves.
Use bingo chips to place over the leaves.
