This is a review that I created to help my 8th grade students review Old and New Immigration for their US History Midterm Exams. This cooperative-learning activity can also be used to review for a quiz or an exam on Immigration.
1) Students should be assigned a partner.
2) The game board should be placed face-up in the middle of the desk between the two students. The answer sheet should be printed on the back of the game board.
3) In order to place an "X" or an "O" on a particular spot, the student whose turn it is must answer the question correctly and fully. They must not check the answer sheet until after that student has answered. If he or she gets it wrong, that student cannot "claim" the spot.
*Instead of "X"s and "O"s, I preferred to have the students use different colored pens and write out the answer to "claim" the spot (after they verbally answered the question correctly).
