Tick Tock Banneker's Clock resource was created to be used as an extension activity to the book, Tick Tock Banneker's Clock by Shana Keller. The book is about the inspiration and reason Benjamin Banneker created a clock by his own hands that worked for 40 years.
I included activities in Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science. Science also includes STEM activities. Story Map included. Comprehension questions included plus a page of extra activities.
The activities can be adapted to fit your teaching area. The activities can be completed in one day, if you decided to have a Benjamin Banneker STEM Day. These activities can stretch for more than one day or choose some for a follow up to a read aloud or independent reading. Can also be used as a day's lesson as a Book Study Day in all subject areas.
I intended for this product to be a review of skills learned, practice skills or introduction of skills to use during the school year.
There are several activities that can be used as informal assessment.
Some activities are created to be projected on a white board if you want to go paperless
