•This is an activity that my high school Marine Biology students use to help compare and contrast different types of tides. The tides compared are Neap & Spring Tide, Ebb & Flood Tide, Diurnal & Semi-diurnal Tide.
•Students have already participated in a lecture discussion to learn about the different types of tides.
•They then use their textbooks and lecture notes to fill out the worksheets.
•On tests, students are expected to be able to define all the tides in their own words and be able to write a paragraph explanation comparing and contrasting at least one set of tides.
•The activity may be printed out as a foldable booklet (the first 4 pages) or as a stapled worksheet (the last 4 pages).
You will receive a 9 page Word file, so you may edit as you need for your own class. There is 1 page with the teacher notes, 4 pages to fold in booklet style, and 4 pages to print as a standard half-size, front-back 1 page worksheet.
