[NO PRINT & NO PREP / Telepractice & In-Person]
Give students a vocabulary boost to help them succeed with speaking, reading, and comprehension tasks across content areas! This PowerPoint pairs a set of 32 Tier 2 adjectives with authentic pictures to help students anchor new definitions to visual stimuli. Fields of 4 allow students to locate targeted images given written (text) and/or verbal label from clinician).
Targets include: adorable, bulky, buoyant, captive, crunchy, curved delicate, disgusting, dense, disheveled, dilapidated, dreary, drenched, grand, heavy, injured, mischievous, oblivious, organized, festive, foggy, fluorescent, fractured, matching, porous, rough, shiny, speckled, sturdy, vibrant, viscous, quaint.
Consider expanding understanding of new words across contexts by helping your client search for additional pictures (e.g. within an online search using Google images*) representing the same vocabulary targets. Allow students to gain ownership of their work by co-creating their own PowerPoint which pairs Tier 2 targets with pictures within therapy sessions, or as a carryover activity. Some students may also be motivated to spend time between sessions taking or gathering their OWN pictures to represent new words.
