Product Description
Are you looking for a quick and interactive way to teach tier 2 words to your students? I've created this weekly workbook just for you (and for me!). Just copy the weekly page and have the students fill out the worksheet. I copy enough for each student to have a page a week for the entire school year, attach the cover page and staple it into booklet form. They enjoy working through each part and as a booklet it gives them a place to go back to if they need to remember the definition and spelling of a tier 2 word. I've also included a tier 2 vocabulary list that would suit grades 1-4 complete with easy to understand, kid friendly definitions. I hope you enjoy it.
*There seems to be some confusion as to how this works. Some have asked for the words to be divided into grades and for there to be more words added to the list. The intention is that I have provided enough words for a word a week for the school year. However, if you want more, you can always add your own Tier 2 Words. As for the grade groups, these words can be used for all grades 1-4. They are not grade specific. Tier 2 words can be taught over and over again until they become 'common' to the students. Also, the idea is to choose words that are relevant to what you are teaching in your specific classroom. For example, if I'm teaching a plant unit in 3rd grade, I might include words such as cycle, observation, classify etc. I hope this clears things up for those who have asked.
