The tiered reading log is a useful teaching tool for AIG (Talented and Gifted) learners. In order to achieve a higher grade, students are required to extend their thinking by answering comprehension questions. The questions become progressively more difficult and are based on Bloom's Taxonomy. For the minimum amount of work, students earn 84%. Students are required to utilize "Perfect Paragraph" format in preparing their responses and the rubric is included with the assignment description. The tiered reading log engages higher order thinking skills and motivates gifted learners.
