Students will see the relationship between multiplying a digit by a power of ten in standard form and in scientific notation then find the equivalent value expressed in standard form.
For example, They will see that 3.2 * 10^3 is the same as 3.2 * 1000 and then match those two cards to 3,200.
There are three tiers to this activity. Tier 1 has positive exponents, Tier 2 has negative exponents, and Tier 3 has both. Each page within the tier has 4 sets with the same digit so students must pay attention to place value and not just count zeros. There are 8 problems per tier.
Great for review or math stations.
