Description

Take the guesswork out of finding vocabulary for a novel! Provided is a list of 30-50 vocabulary words pulled directly from the text with the page numbers referenced for your convenience. These vocabulary words were chosen for their complexity, unfamiliarity, or their relationship to the subject matter. The vocabulary list also includes a dictionary definition and part of speech for the word as it is used in the book.

Accompanying these words are some standard vocabulary activities to be used with any word and at least one activity dealing with the author’s us of figurative language. The activities help students dig into the meanings and connotations of words. They also get students applying the words to everyday life. Some activities are pretty straightforward while others are a little more creative. Find what works best for you!
